Phantom Blade Zero reportedly topped a million copies sold before it even launched
On the eve of its October 29, 2026 launch on PS5 and PC, Phantom Blade Zero is reportedly already at well past a million copies sold worldwide, according to market analysis firm Alinea Analytics. Publisher S-Game has not confirmed any figure itself, only saying that pre-orders had heavily exceeded expectations.
An analyst's estimate, not an official tally
The figure comes from a post published on October 27 by Rhys Elliott, an analyst at Alinea Analytics, who states that worldwide sales are already "well past 1M" once WeGame, Tencent's Chinese PC storefront, is factored in. The catch: Alinea itself says it has no raw data for WeGame, only a qualitative estimate that it accounts for a "considerable share" of total sales. The million-copy milestone therefore rests on an extrapolation, not a direct measurement the way Steam or PlayStation Store figures are.
A fast-moving set of estimates
Alinea's numbers have climbed steadily over the past few months. In mid-August, the firm put Steam sales at around 300,000 copies for $14.5 million in revenue. On October 25, a new estimate shared on LinkedIn by Rhys Elliott raised that to roughly 500,000 Steam copies for $24 million, a figure several outlets, including GamingBolt, explicitly flagged as an unconfirmed rumor since S-Game had said nothing. Then, on October 27 and 28, Alinea revised its estimate to about 850,000 combined units across Steam and PS5, for roughly $43 million in revenue, with Steam accounting for about 74% of units and PS5 about 31% of revenue. It's this measured base of 850,000 units, plus an unquantified WeGame estimate, that lets Alinea claim the million-copy threshold.
For comparison
Alinea had previously compared Phantom Blade Zero's pace to Black Myth: Wukong, another breakout Chinese action game, noting that Steam pre-order pace was tracking at about 73% of Wukong's at the same point before launch. Several analysts, including Elliott himself, note that Phantom Blade Zero isn't expected to match Black Myth: Wukong's "insane" sales, which topped 10 million copies within weeks of release. Alinea also estimates that about 62.5% of measured sales come from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

The bottom line
The measured base (roughly 850,000 units across Steam and PS5, $43 million in revenue) comes from a third-party analytics firm, not from S-Game, so it remains an estimate. Crossing the symbolic million mark additionally depends on an unquantified WeGame share: plausible given the sales pace, but not a measured figure. Check back after October 29 to see whether the publisher finally shares an official tally.
