GTA 6 reportedly weighs around 210GB on PS5, but Rockstar still hasn't confirmed anything
Three weeks before GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the question of how much storage it will need is stirring up players. The X account @PlaystationSize, which says it tracks spec sheets that appear in the PlayStation Store backend, is citing a specific figure: around 210GB for the PS5 version. But that figure is neither an announcement from Rockstar nor a public Sony listing, it's a number relayed by a third-party account that neither Rockstar nor Sony has confirmed.
A leak, not an official spec sheet
Rockstar hasn't published any install size on its own pages, and the public PlayStation Store listing doesn't mention a storage requirement either. The studio has confirmed that digital pre-loading opens on November 12 for eligible purchases, a week before launch, but gave no size figure alongside that announcement. The 210GB number therefore remains, at this stage, secondhand information: Player. One, which relayed it, says plainly that it isn't an official confirmation from Rockstar Games.
Estimates all over the place
This isn't the first number to circulate. Earlier in development, leaker CyberLeek claimed an internal build exceeded 200GB, a figure some outlets later repeated as "just under 200GB" while attributing it to the GTA6 Intel account instead. But a development build typically carries debug data that isn't present in the retail release, so that number says little about the finished game's actual size. On Reddit, player estimates range from 150GB to 300GB depending on the thread, and a screenshot claiming to show "244.86GB required" on a PlayStation interface circulated in mid-September without anyone managing to verify it. In short: no figure has consensus yet, and the one thing every estimate has in common is that none of them comes from Rockstar, Sony, or Microsoft.
For comparison
GTA V's PS5 Expanded & Enhanced version, released in 2022, weighed about 87GB at launch (the Xbox Series X|S version was slightly heavier, around 94GB). If the 210GB figure held up for GTA 6, that would be more than double the previous game, a jump broadly in line with Rockstar's stated ambitions for the map of Leonida, which the studio has described as considerably larger than Red Dead Redemption 2's.

The bottom line
The 210GB figure, circulating from a PlayStation Store tracking account, is confirmed by neither Rockstar nor Sony. Player estimates swing between 150GB and 300GB, and the only established fact is that pre-loading opens on November 12, with no size disclosed so far. If GTA V weighed about 87GB on PS5, a GTA 6 above 200GB would be consistent with the game's stated scope, but check the official PlayStation Store or Xbox Store listing when it goes live rather than taking this figure at face value.
