The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered Launches Free on September 29, Your Platinum Stays Untouched

It's official. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered launches on September 29, 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, and here's the big one: it's a free upgrade for everyone who already owns the game.

CD Projekt Red confirmed a native Switch 2 version (HDR, 120Hz, touch screen support), plus a new partnership with Battle.net for PC distribution. Even better, the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions are now included free for every base-game owner, no exceptions.

What's actually new

The studio is calling this the biggest update since the 2022 next-gen patch, with over thirty individual changes. Highlights include:

• Reworked visuals (lighting, materials, Witcher Sign effects)
• Revised combat and movement
• Overhauled mount handling
• Improved monster behavior
• Reworked skill tree
• Transmogrification and new finishers
• Expanded photo mode

What about the Platinum?

This is what matters most to us at Pathline, and the answer is reassuring. CD Projekt Red's community director Marcin Momot confirmed it directly: there's no new trophy list. Remastered is an update to the existing game client, not a separate edition. Your saves and trophy progress carry over completely.

In practice, our complete Witcher 3 Platinum guide (all 79 trophies across the base game, Hearts of Stone, and Blood and Wine) stays fully valid at launch, nothing to update.

What's next

CD Projekt Red also gave a first look at Songs of the Past, a brand-new paid expansion developed with Fool's Theory, a team of Witcher 3 veterans. It'll take Geralt to the new realm of Letten, targeting 2027. No exact date or price yet. We'll update the guide as soon as its trophies are known.
