PlayStation Plus: October 2026 free games (and their trophies)
Sony confirmed the October 2026 PlayStation Plus Essential lineup on September 30, 2026: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. All three are claimable from Tuesday, October 6 through Monday, November 2, 2026, for every subscription tier (Essential, Extra, Premium).
F1 25
The official game of the 2025 Formula One season, developed by Codemasters. PS5 only. 47 trophies total (33 Bronze, 11 Silver, 2 Gold, 1 Platinum), with the Platinum named F1 Legend. Only around 13% of players who've started the game have earned it so far: Career mode and My Team 2.0 trophies demand a real time investment, not just clean driving.
Hunt: Showdown 1896
Crytek's extraction shooter, in its remastered form. PS5 only. 37 trophies (20 Bronze, 12 Silver, 4 Gold, 1 Platinum). Like most competitive multiplayer games, several trophies depend on cumulative online stats (kills, successful extractions, bounties collected): longer than a linear single-player game, but with no real point of no return or missable trophy.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2
The sequel to the co-op romp where giant bugs and robots invade a blocky toy-sized world. Available on PS5 and PS4. 40 trophies (26 Bronze, 10 Silver, 3 Gold, 1 Platinum). The Earth Defense Force series has historically had fairly accessible solo Platinums with no mandatory multiplayer grind: if you want a relaxed Platinum this month, this is probably it.
September's games leave today
If you haven't claimed September's lineup yet (Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes), this is your last chance: they leave the Essential catalog on October 5, the day before October's games arrive.

The bottom line
F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 are free to claim on the PlayStation Store from October 6 to November 2, 2026, for any PS Plus subscriber. For a quick Platinum with no multiplayer dependency, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the most accessible of the three.
