GTA 6 reportedly coming to PC as soon as Q1 2027
According to a GamesBeat report echoed by several outlets (Insider Gaming, GamingBible), Rockstar is reportedly targeting a PC release of GTA 6 in the first quarter of 2027, meaning January through March, just a few months after the November 19, 2026 console launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The claim rests on four anonymous sources described as familiar with Rockstar's plans. Rockstar did not respond to GamesBeat's request for comment before publication, and has neither confirmed nor denied this window.
A rumor, not an announcement
It's worth being clear about what this report is, and isn't: no PC date has been officially announced by Rockstar or Take-Two. The four sources cited by GamesBeat remain anonymous, and no document or official statement backs up the January-March 2027 window. An earlier report, based on a different leaker (the X account DetectiveSeeds, citing three former Rockstar employees), had already floated a PC release around February 2027, for budgetary reasons: getting PC sales booked within Take-Two's fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2027. Take-Two's own financial filings for that fiscal year, however, only list GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no mention of PC.
A much shorter gap than previous entries
If this window holds up, the gap between the console and PC releases would be dramatically shorter than for previous Rockstar games. GTA V launched on consoles in 2013 and didn't reach PC until April 2015, roughly two years later. Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar path: consoles in late 2018, PC only in 2019, a delay that drew plenty of criticism from PC players at the time. A PC port in the first quarter of 2027 would shrink that gap to roughly two to four months.
Why Rockstar might move faster this time
Some observers suggest Rockstar wants to limit the risk of spoilers and prolonged leaks by narrowing the gap between platforms, after the game suffered massive leaks during development. Take-Two has reportedly argued internally that most of the franchise's players are on consoles, justifying polishing the console version first before any PC work. Both explanations are journalists' interpretations, not official statements from Rockstar or Take-Two.

The bottom line
A rumor sourced from four anonymous tipsters claims GTA 6 could reach PC as early as Q1 2027, a far shorter wait than GTA V's two years or Red Dead Redemption 2's own delay. Nothing is confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two at this stage, and Take-Two's official financial filings currently only list GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for the current fiscal year. Take it with caution until there's an official announcement.
