Control Resonant passes one million sales

Remedy Entertainment announced on October 15, 2026 that Control Resonant has surpassed one million copies sold worldwide, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). The game, which launched digitally on September 24, reached this mark in just three weeks, making it the fastest title in the studio's history to cross that threshold, ahead of Alan Wake 2.

A physical launch landing the same day

The announcement coincides with physical PS5 and Xbox Series X editions hitting store shelves, originally planned for the September 24 launch before Remedy pushed them back three weeks. Two versions are available: a Standard Edition ($59.99/€59.99/£49.99) and a SteelBook Edition ($69.99/€69.99/£59.99) including a SteelBook case, three fine art prints, and a key art poster. A Mac version (Steam and App Store) is planned later this year.

What Remedy had to say

Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen commented on the milestone: "We couldn't ask for better fans, and seeing all of the reactions to this game has been a career highlight."

Still a long way from full profitability

One million copies is an early step, not a finish line: Remedy has previously estimated it needs roughly 3 to 4 million lifetime sales to reach a 100% return on investment for the game, and the studio had projected around 1.8 million sales for 2026 alone.

And the game itself?

The bottom line

Control Resonant crosses one million sales in three weeks, a Remedy record, just as physical editions land in stores. The studio is still aiming for 3 to 4 million lifetime sales to fully pay off the game though: a strong start, but not the finish line yet.
